Palmer authored The Medical Bill Survival Guide, published by Warner Books, the Medical Bill Workbook for Consumers, the General Advocacy Course, Self-Insured Corporate Auditing Program, Hospital Bill Compliance Audit Program , and Critical Analyses of Provider Billing and Coding. . She has been featured in hundreds of national news media outlets as a leading expert in medical bill advocacy.

There, she managed the medical review, fraud and appeals departments that had oversight of Medicare participating facilities.
